Hoteln' it

Okay so we are all here safe and sound. Not with out incident though! Layton cut his lip open just before we left Whitehorse. Blood everywhere! Fortunately not deep enough for stitches so we didn't have to go to the hospital. Thank goodness for that! Jen's (our ride) alarm didn't go off but she made it just in time for us to get to the airport in the morning! With 5 min to spair!! way to go Jen!! Thanks again! Then we finally got into Vancouver and they had a security breach so we were in lock down for over an hour and we had to stay in this small part of the wing we were in. No food or anything to buy. (luckily I was smart enough to go get something earlier for us!) Our flight was delayed for 45 min and then we boarded! we got in to Edmonton and surprisingly everything was good....at this time it kinda creeped me out! ha ha We have been in the hotel for a couple of days now and will be here until Tuesday. Tana is walking like crazy now and Layton got sun burnt the other day! Not used to the sun being so hot!! woo hoo!

Goodbye

Well the movers come tomorrow to pack and pack and pack us up! I say that thrice as there is so much stuff everywhere I feel slightly enclosed in the great white north! I can say however I am going to miss it here! Well not the yard and the weather and not necessarily the late nights because "the moon isn't out mommy it's not bedtime!" Although we have experienced some we don't feel like we experienced much up here. Too bad really.We are going to miss our friends up here! They were great! really really really great! I hope they will visit us down south and we might make a trip up again. It is sad really there would have been lots to do now that Tana is older and walking. Oh well. On the other hand HORRAY for moving back to such nice weather...(sarcasm inserted here) Supposedly it is going to be 10 and raining! booooo. ha ha. I am cursed! Oh well! I am excited to get to the new house and see my family and soon Lindsay's family! We sure miss you guys and it's going to be great! We also are looking at buying a Jeep patriot. They look really nice.....but we'll see. No picture today as we are in no condition to be taking on...even if I could find the camera!

sickyfaces....

We here at the Smith house usually up hold a certain standard of healthiness. Until last week...UG... Lets see where did it start, Tana decided that she would cut her top four teeth at once and have horrible diaper rash and snotty nose. Then Layton got a cold..that seemed like it wouldn't go away, which turned into ear infections....that I didn't know about because he doesn't complain when he is sick, He just keeps on playing at a slightly more abusive level! So he had this so called ear infection for at least a week before I knew about it. He told me his ear hurt once and that was apparently supposed to tip me off enough. It didn't! And so then he kept saying, "what you say?" after everything that I said, That is what tipped me off. Oh and the tiny fever he had. So I took them to doctor just to see if it was okay....no not okay! Layton has two really bad ear infections and Tana has pink eye....seriously where does it come from! We don't even leave the house! ha ha! Oh well So Mr. antibiotics and I are in cahoots for 5 days for both kids to take these bugs down! It will be a torturous mission, but to fly out of here next week end it must be successful.

The rock band party~!

Ahh yes the wonderful fashions of the 80's!! Loved it though except the leggings seriously who could stand to wear those things.... I practically had to peel them off with a spatula at the end of the night.
Brian Little's surprise birthday party was combined with the rock band party! It was pretty hilarious...and I am not just talking about his outfit! ha ha

we had so much fun we will definitely do it again!! so so so fun! or should I say Rad!!

Layton's party 2

We had a cars themed party with cars cupcakes and table cloth and he got lots of cars and books, hippo flash light, leapster game and a cars sofa! He is pretty excited about everything! He struggled to blow out the candles so daddy helped a bit!!

layton's birthday!

Chick Hicks!! Layton loves to get mad at chick hicks!! So he was pretty excited about it!

Layton is officially 3 years old today! The Day started early and the first words out of his mouth were " Mommy I slept all night....now can I have my birfday gifs" So cute!! He is so excited about his birthday! We gave him our gifts today and tomorrow is his party with every one! His friend Brennen is over for the day so they have been playin' with all his new toys! And a few fun activities I have planned for the rest of the day like Paper bag kangaroo puppets and makin' cookies and Layton's favorite game...chase me chase me!!! Should be fun!

For breakfast we had toaster waffles and whipped cream and fresh strawberries, (just like his hero's the chipmunks) For lunch we had Snails (pic below) and for supper we are having meatballs and rice! As per the birfday boy! It has been a great day so far and we are excited for tomorrow! Wow...3 whole years( pause for sentimental thoughts and for effect) where did the time go?

That's right we are all walkers in the family right now!! well sort of! we all have the ability to walk now!! Tana took her real first steps... three in a row!! Hooray Tana! There is a video but after the 10th time trying to upload it I gave up. I maybe able to e-mail it, IF you'd like to see. I have to go finish 2nd stage child proofing now!! Talk to you soon!

mars and venus

we went to a trade show on Saturday and Layton got a tattoo! well needless to say he loves it and shows it off every where he goes! Through out the trade show he had his sleeve rolled up and flexed! He thought it was fun!

Tana had her first set of pigtails!! sooo cute! I am not so sure she liked it all that much and it took about 20 min to get them in! But I loved it! So one kid so feminine and one so masculine! lol. Definitely mars and Venus! It is hard to imagine Them getting older! I am not sure I want them too! They are so fun right now! Even when they fight over toys and cry cause they are tired and get mad at each other for being in there space. It's the moments when Tana is crying in the car and Layton starts singing the ABC's and she falls right asleep, that make it all worth while! How could anyone not want kids...... so cute!
